The entrance of the beach

Away in the far West of the ancient Algerian borders with Its Neighbor Morocco, lays down one of the most beautiful places in Algeria on of the most beautiful Beaches of the Country; The Secret Barbadjani beach.

Barbadjani beach is located in the Wilaya of Tlemcen a few kilometers west of the beach and the small seaside village of Honaine and ten kilometers east of the town of Ghazaouet. This beach is still in the wild and the only way to get there is by boat.

This site is well known to Tlemceniens who come to relax, fish and have a nice quiet picnic. The beach stretches for about 500 meters in the shade of a large cliff.

The beach of Barbadjani is embellished with a source of fresh water, it is enough to dig with your own hands to find fresh water. 

Because of its unique position, protected by a large cliff, cove and beach are sheltered from any view from the sea. Formerly the beach served as a hiding place and a lookout for pirates who from this beach launched attacks against the sea. Spanish galleons passing by in the distance.

The name Barbadjani comes from the fact that in the 19th century an old Italian fisherman from Ghazaouet, Uncle Jeani "Barba Jani" used to shelter his boat there.
